M/C OCEAN SPRAY

AM: Upon arrival, you will receive necessary assistance and be transferred from San Cristobal Airport to the M/C Ocean Spray. PM: Bartolomeo – Roca pináculo Roca Pináculo is a volcanic cone formed by magma ejected from an underwater volcano. The sea cooled the hot lava, and the pieces fused together, creating this massive icon with multiple layers of basalt. The enormous rock also features a beach where a small population of green sea turtles nests during the breeding season. Galapagos penguins gather here, offering beautiful views of colorful schools of fish and inquisitive sea lions. Possible wildlife sightings include Galapagos penguins, Sally Lightfoot crabs, sea lions, rays, sea turtles, sharks, various tropical fish, and diverse coastal birds. (B, L, D)

AM: Genovesa - Bahía Darwin Bahía Darwin, once a shield volcano, now showcases a collapsed caldera side due to centuries of erosion. It is renowned for its diverse birdlife, with over 20,000 red-footed boobies calling Genovesa Island home, seeking refuge in its trees and shrubs. PM: Genovesa - El Barranco This visitor site, also known as Prince Philip's Steps, leads to a rocky path up a cliff, rewarding guests with breathtaking views. It is home to a Palo Santo forest housing red-footed boobies and other coastal nesting birds. (B, L, D)

AM: Santiago - Playa Espumilla / Caleta Bucanero As the second island discovered by Charles Darwin, originally named after King James of England, Caleta Bucanero offers excellent snorkeling opportunities and used to serve as a refuge for passing sailors and pirates. The underwater formations provide an incredible habitat for many tropical fish species. Possible wildlife: Marine iguanas, sea lions, various coastal birds, tropical fish species, mantas, sea turtles. PM: Santiago - Puerto Egas Puerto Egas, also known as James Bay, is home to the swift Galapagos lava lizards. It features caves and tide pools teeming with diverse marine species, making it one of the best snorkeling sites in the Galapagos. (B, L, D)

AM: Isla North Seymour Named after the English nobleman Lord Hugh Seymour, this island was formed by uplifted submarine lava and houses a massive colony of approximately 2,500 land iguanas, along with large populations of sea lions, blue-footed boobies, and frigatebirds. Along the coast, you can spot both land and marine iguanas and the largest colony of magnificent frigatebirds. PM: Santa Cruz - Highlands The Santa Cruz Highlands offer a fascinating blend of wildlife, hills, ferns, and volcanoes. Exploring the lava tubes provides a unique and surreal experience. Here, you'll witness the diverse agricultural zones present in the Galapagos, all in one place. The variety of birds makes this area a delight for birdwatchers. (B, L, D)

AM: Isla Mosquera Located between Baltra and North Seymour Islands, this visitor site features a rock and coral reef (resulting from uplift) and a vast white sandy beach. With a narrow width of about 160 meters and an estimated length of 600 meters, it showcases lava rock formations, evidence of magma uplift, except on the southwest side where visitors land. The island boasts one of the largest sea lion populations and offers sightings of various coastal bird species. There are occasional reports of orcas (Orcinus orca) feeding on sea lions. After this final visit, guests will be transferred to Baltra Airport for their return flight to mainland Ecuador. (B, -, -)
